Expo 2030 excavation passes 8 million cubic metres: GCC begins coordination, procurement stays quiet

Expo 2030’s organising company published fresh construction figures this week, disclosing for the first time the full length of the site’s main service corridor. Gulf states also took a first coordination step, with the GCC Secretariat convening its inaugural preparatory meeting on Expo 2030 participation. Neither signal is a tender or contract award: procurement activity stayed quiet for a second consecutive week.

The Expo 2030 Riyadh Company disclosed excavation and backfilling volumes and, for the first time, the main service corridor’s total length: 7.5 kilometres, of which 2 kilometres are now complete. • GCC Secretariat holds first Expo 2030 preparatory meeting (5 July 2026). The General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf convened its inaugural coordination meeting on member states’ participation. It opens a formal channel between the six-nation bloc and the host organiser.
